Commenting on the announcement of the National Monetisation Pipeline launched by the Indian Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajiv Lall, Professorial Research Fellow at the SMU Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics discussed why this announcement is a very welcome step in the right direction. He also gave recommendations on how to improve the design of long-term concession contracts and to build specialised capability to manage the inevitable legal disputes that will arise along the way.
