SMU building

The SMU Inclusive and Immersive Experiential Learning (I2XL) Programme is a pioneering flagship program that adopts the SMU-X Blended Pedagogic model. It is a customizable program (typically 1-week long) for overseas MBA/Master’s students to take curated courses at SMU while working on a live project.

The first run of the programme took place in October 2019 with IIT-Kharagpur (IITKGP) VG School of Management (VGSoM). Since then, multiple rounds of the programme have been completed with different partner universities across India.

In an increasingly fragmented and fast-evolving economic landscape shaped by protectionism, supply chain disruptions, and the disruptive rise of AI and machine learning, employability challenges for students have become more complex and multidimensional. The I2XL programme was conceived as a strategic response to these challenges, aiming to enhance the employability of post-graduate students through a holistic, future-ready approach. Its proof of concept is anchored in the 5 R’s framework: Retraining to Collaborate, Recruitment Accelerator, Research and Cases, Responsibility to Society, and Recognition of Contribution.
