-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jointly presented by EY-ISB Initiative for Emerging Markets Studies (IEMS)
and Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics, SMU

This conversation is aimed at gaining insights into two related themes - financial inclusion and digitisation. We have seen a big change on both fronts. India conducted the largest financial inclusion programme and banked 350 million unbanked individuals. We will discuss the outcomes of the programme and contrast it with other programmes in Rwanda and other parts of the world. Second, digitisation has been the buzzword due to Demonetisation in India and introduction of the QR code in Singapore and the role of e-wallets in China. We will discuss all these issues in detail.
