Former Deputy Prime Minister Dr Tony Tan, who delivered a lecture on “The Futures of Higher Education” at SMU yesterday, was of the view that the Singapore economy is poised for growth for many decades as Asia continues its ascent but should the economy stagnate, Singapore might experience an oversupply of graduates.

Jeremy Goh, an associate professor of finance at SMU, says that the widening CEO-to-average worker pay ratio is a “disturbing statistic, but market economists will argue that the wage is a result of market forces.”

The Securities Investors Association Singapore, the Institute of Internal Auditors and Sim Kee Boon Institute of SMU will launch the Internal Audit Excellence Award. The award will seek to recognise how internal audit provides value to listed companies such as identifying opportunities to achieve organisational objectives and operational improvements as well as reduce risk exposures.

In line with the revised Code of Corporate Governance, SIAS, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at SMU are jointly launching the "Internal Audit Excellence Award".

He shares on his Facebook that he will be speaking on 19 July at SMU on higher education and welcomes netizens to attend.
