他的另一项杰出功绩是在吉宝企业（Keppel）大厦将倾之际力挽狂澜，成功将其转型为多元化、具有国际视野的本地企业。在此期间，他作为新加坡第一通电信（M1）的命名者，更是从零开始带领该公司发展成为新加坡领先的电信公司。
此外，他还曾担任总统顾问理事会主席，并在退休后仍活跃于政商界，先后担任淡马锡控股（Temasek Holdings）的董事会成员和印尼达纳蒙银行(Bank Danamon)的董事会主席（President Commissioner）。

Having grown up in Suzhou, I witnessed the profound transformation brought about by the China–Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park. Mr Sim’s leadership as Co-Chairman was instrumental to this achievement. The Chinese edition of this book stands as a fitting tribute to his enduring contributions to Singapore–China cooperation, alongside his many achievements in Singapore. His legacy continues to shape the mission of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics as we advance knowledge and foster international collaboration.

The values that SKB stood for transcend culture, language, geography and time. This can be seen through his professional achievements that I wrote about in the English version. Writing this biography was a journey of discovery and I am truly grateful to Prof Zhang and SMU’s SKBI that it has now been translated into Simplified Chinese. Growing up, I knew my grandfather as 公公but I didn't truly understand who he was professionally. Through extensive interviews and conversations, I've come to see a man whose legacy transcends his achievements.
What strikes me most is this: people may forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them feel. My grandfather embodied this truth. He had an unwavering heart for the nation, an unshakeable integrity, and an upright character that inspired those around him.
This book is more than a biography, it's a values roadmap I hope to pass down to my children and future generations. It's a testament to how one person's commitment to purpose, principle, and people can shape an entire generation.
