ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Jefferson Chen, Chief Executive Officer
Jefferson is the CEO of ADVANCE.AI and also a Partner at GSR Ventures, a leading venture capital firm in Silicon Valley and China. Prior to starting ADVANCE.AI, Jefferson was head of private investing for Greater China at Farallon Capital (one of the leading global hedge funds with AUM of over US$20 billion) where he led investments into Didi, Alibaba, Huarong, Cinda, and others. Jefferson previously worked at Goldman Sachs where he was involved in the IPO and M&A transactions for numerous Chinese companies including Baidu, New Oriental, ICBC, Bank of China and others. Jefferson received Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and MBA from Stanford University.
Chun Dong Chau, Chief Data Scientist
Chun was previously a Partner at Crystal Horse Investments, doing early stage investments across South East Asia. He led CHI's seed investments in Propwall(acquired), Ibilik(acquired), Lovebyte(acquired), Internet Optics (partially acquired), Gilcrux (acquired), Dropmysite(IPO-ed) and Capital-Match (fastest growing p2p lending platform in Singapore). Prior to that he was owner of several internet businesses under depeach.com and was part of the core engineering team of tv.nl in the Netherlands. Chun holds Ph.D. in mathematics and natural science from the University of Leiden. He received a Master of Applied Mathematics from the University of Technology Eindhoven, prior obtaining his double propedeuse in Applied Math and Computer Science.
Dong Shou, Chief Technology Officer
Dong was previously a Partner and VP of Engineering at WeCash, one of the leading fintech startups in China. Before Wecash, Dong worked as a senior engineer at Amazon AWS in Seattle. Dong had MS in computer science from both Tsinghua University and Penn State University. Dong has extensive experiences in distributed system, big data related system design and fintech products.
Qian Wang, Chief Strategy Officer
Qian was previously the Chief Innovation Officer in China Chengxin Credit Information Co., LTD, one of the biggest credit data service providers in China, managing data analytics, modelling and data product teams. He has extensive experience in consumer finance, personal credit data and Asia’s fintech ecosystem. Previously, he designed and developed high performance data platforms for Two Sigma Investments. Qian Wang graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, both in Computer and Information Science.
Robbie Yan, Chief Intelligence Officer
Robbie leads the research and development effort on Artificial Intelligence at ADVANCE.AI. Robbie has been involved in the technology and finance industries as a researcher, programmer, product manager, trader, and investor. He has previously held positions at Microsoft, Google, Partech VC, Morgan Stanley, Citadel, and Two Sigma. He received a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
Kaimin Hu, Chief Product Manager
Kaimin previously worked at Accenture Technology Lab in the US as a Senior Product Manager where he led the Global R&D Team in building frontier technology solutions for enterprise clients. Before he joined Accenture, he established several startup companies in the U.S. and China in the areas of social network, IoT and fintech. Kaimin received B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Ph.D candidate in Computer Engineering from University of Wisconsin - Madison and holds M.B.A degree from University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign.
