Through fun and innovative games such as FinLit Human Foosball, SMU freshmen can experience our interactive pedagogy while spurring their new undergraduate journeys with bite-sized personal finance management tips from seniors!
In 2020, Citi Foundation-SMU Financial Literacy Program for Young Adults organised its first virtual experience for SMU freshmen as part of the university-wide Freshman Orientation experience, entitled FinLit For Freshies (FFF). Taking inspiration from games like Monopoly, Game of Life, and Snakes and Ladders, the club conceptualised and co-created an interactive game site with a game developer. Freshman participants were able to explore and learn foundational FinLit concepts such as budgeting, savings, insurance and investing.
