SYNOPSIS

At this full day event, hosted by the SMU Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics (SKBI), the results of 7 months of work on Digital Assets will be presented, along with implications in the Asia Pacific context.

The work was carried out by over 40 of the world’s largest forward thinking traditional financial institutions, law firms, and technology providers. They formed an industry initiative called the Digital Assets Working Group (DAWG) to figure out Digital Assets and the future of finance. The DAWG is an independent industry initiative run by Colin Platt and supported by R3. R3 is an enterprise blockchain software firm working with a broad ecosystem of more than 300 members and partners across multiple industries from both the private and public sectors to develop on Corda, our open-source blockchain platform, and Corda Enterprise, a commercial version for enterprise usage.

Results from the four working subgroups will be presented, along with panel discussions about the findings:

  • Definitions & Taxonomy
  • Tokenomics & Governance
  • PoCs & Collaborative Projects
  • Legal & Regulatory

Presentations from technology platforms will demonstrate the “state of the art” of Digital Assets.
